Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Pravastatin Sodium 10 mg
Each tablet contains:

Each tablet contains:
Pravastatin Sodium 40 mg.
Indications:
Pravacard should be used, in
addition to diet restricted in
saturated fat an cholesterol, to
decrease the risk for
atherosclerotic vascular disease
due to hypercholesterolemia.
Pravacard is used in the
following cases:
A- Primary Prevention of
coronary events:
In hypercholesterolemic patients
without clinically evident
coronary heart disease,
Pravacard is indicated to:
1- Reduce the risk of myocardial
infarction.
2- Reduce the risk of undergoing
myocardial revascularization
procedures.
3- Reduce the risk of
cardiovascular mortality with no
increase in death from
non-
cardiovascular causes.
B- Primary prevention of
coronary events:
In hypercholesterolemic patients
with clinically evident coronary
artery disease, Pravacard.
is indicated to:
1- Slow the progression of
coronary atherosclerosis.
2- Reduce the risk of stroke and
transient ischemic attack.
C- Hypercholesterolemia:
Pravacard is used as an adjunct
to diet for the reduction of
elevated total and LDL-
Cholesterol levels in patients
with primary
hypercholesterolemia (Type IIa
and IIb).
Dosage and Administration:
In addition to the diet
restricted in saturated fat and
cholesterol, the recommended
doses are the following:
1- Starting dose is 10 – 20 mg
once daily at bedtime.
2- In primary
hypercholesterolmic patients
with a history of significant
renal or hepatic.
dysfunction, a starting dose of
10 mg daily at bedtime is
recommended.
3- In patients taking
immunosupperessive drugs such as
cyclosporine therapy should
begin with.
10 mg once a day at bedtime, and
the maximum dosage is 20 mg/day.
4- In the elderly: 10 – 20 mg
once a day at bedtime is
recommended to achieve a maximum.
