Description & Properties:
Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride is
an antihistamine drug having the
chemical name 2-(Diphenyl
methoxy) – N, N – dimethyl
ethylamine Hydrochloride.
Each 5 ml syrup contains:
Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride
12.5 mg.
Each tablet contains:
Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride 25
mg.
Indications:
1- For allergic conjunctivitis,
mild, uncomplicated allergic
skin manifestations of urticaria
and angioedema, amelioration of
allergic reactions to blood or
plasma, rhinitis, insect bite,
allergic cough, coldness.
2- For active and prophylactic
treatment of motion sickness.
Dosage and Administration:
Tablet:
Adult 25 to 50 mg three to four
times daily.
Children over 10 kg : 12.5 to
25 mg three to four times daily.
Syrup:
Adult two to four teaspoonfuls
three to four times daily.
Children over 10 kg : one to two
teaspoonfuls three to four times
daily, or 5 mg / kg 24 hours.
Over dosage :
Drymouth, dilated pupils, and
gastrointestinal disturbances. |
