Mechanisms of action and
Pharmacological Properties:
Sodium Picosulphate is
metabolism by colonic bacteria
to active compound
bis (p-hydroxyphenyl)
pyridyl-2-methane.
When taken by mouth it is
usually effective within 10 – 14
hours.
Each 1 ml (20 drops) oral drops
contains:
Sodium Picosulphate …… 7.5 mg.
Each 1 drop contains: Sodium
Picosulphate …… 0.375 mg.
Indications:
Kartalax is used orally for the
treatment of all kinds of
constipation, and to clean the
colon before the x-rays,
surgical operations.
Dosage and Administration:
For adults: 10 – 30 drops as
single dose, usually at bedtime.
Children: 2 – 5 years 5 drops
Children:
5 – 10 years 5 - 10 drops. |
