Composition:
Each 5 ml suspension
contains: Albendazole 200
mg.
Each film coated tablet
contains: Albendazole 200 mg.
Indications:
Ascazil is indicated for the
treatment of:
Ascariasis – Trichuriasis –
Strongyloidiasis – Enterobiasis
– Taeniasis – Capillariasis
–
Hydatid disease.
Dosage and administration:
The usual dose for adults and
children aged 2 years or over:
- In Ascariasis and Trichuriasis
is 400 mg (10 ml) or two tablets
as single dose.
- In Strongyloidiasis is 400 mg
(10 ml) or two tablets is given
daily for 3 consecutive days,
this may repeated after 3 weeks
if necessary.
- In Enterobiasis for children
aged 2 years or more have been
given a single dose of 100 mg
(2.5 ml) repeated after 7 days.
The adult dose is 400 mg (10 ml)
or two tablets repeated after 7
days.
- In Taeniasis (with some other
parasites) 400 mg (10 ml) or two
tablets for 3 days.
- In Capillariasis 400 mg (10
ml) or two tablets daily in 2
divided doses for 10 days.
- In Hydatid disease for usual
dose 15 mg / kg body weight
twice daily for patients < 60
kg, or 400 mg twice daily for
patients > 60 kg. This mostly
given for 28 cycles with 2 week
interval between cycles. The
number of cycles are only 3
cycles. |
