Composition:
Aldazide 25: Each film coated
tablet contains: Spironolactone
25 mg,
Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg.
Aldazide 50: Each film coated
tablet contains: Spironolactone
50 mg,
Hydrochlorothiazide 50 mg.
Indications:
Aldazide is indicated for:
- Edmatous conditions for
patients with:
1- Congestive heart failure.
2- Cirrhosis of the liver
accompanied by edema and /or
ascites.
3- Nephrotic syndrome.
- Essential hypertension.
Dosage:
- Edema in adults ( congestive
heart failure, hepatic
cirrhosis, or nephritic
syndrome) the usual maintenance
dose is 100 mg each of
spironolactone and
Hydrochlorothiazide daily
administered in a single dose or
in divided doses but
range from 25 mg to 200 mg of
each component daily.
- Children: the usual daily
maintenance dose of Aldazide
should be that provide
1.65 mg to 3.3 mg of
spironolactone /Kg of body
weight.
- Essential hypertension: 50 mg
to 100 mg each spironolactone
and
Hydrochlorothiazide daily given
in a single dose or in divided
doses. Concurrent
potassium supplementation is not
recommended when the drug is
used in long
term therapy. |
